Neuro Emotional Technique
A gentle, structured mind-body approach to stress patterns held in the body.
NET is offered for people with recurring emotional responses, ongoing stress, or physical symptoms that may have a stress component. It looks at how your nervous system, physiology and past experiences connect.
What is NET?
NET identifies and helps resolve Neuro Emotional Complexes (NECs), which are unresolved physiological stress responses linked to past experiences. Heightened stress, illness or trauma can interrupt the body's normal processing of an experience and leave the response stuck.
NET does not treat emotions directly. It works with the physical stress response that goes with an emotion.
Why do these patterns persist?
Through conditioning, the body can link certain situations with particular responses, and those responses can spread to similar situations later. The body can usually resolve these conditioned responses, but sometimes it does not fully do so, and the pattern repeats, often without you being aware of it.
Physical symptoms and stress
Some physical symptoms may have a stress component. NET can assess whether this applies to you and support processing if it does. It may help where symptoms recur or do not fully resolve with physical treatment alone.
Conscious and subconscious congruence
NET can assess whether your conscious goals conflict with deeper physiological patterns, which can make lasting change difficult.
A practical example
As a parent, you may react to your child in a familiar way that does not match how you want to respond. NET aims to resolve the underlying pattern so your responses can become more regulated over time.
A gentle, structured process
NET does not require you to relive past experiences or talk at length about them. It focuses on the physiological stress response, and sessions move at a pace your system is ready for.
It can be used alone or alongside naturopathy and Somatic Experiencing, so physical and nervous system factors can be addressed in one consultation.
