Infrared Sauna in Belconnen, Canberra

A deep, detoxifying sweat from a far-infrared sauna, without the humidity.

Lakeside Wellness has a two-person far-infrared sauna in Belconnen, Canberra, from Sunlighten. Infrared saunas heat your body directly instead of heating the air around you, so they are far less humid than a traditional sauna. Far-infrared has the longest wavelength, reaching deepest into the body and prompting a deep sweat.

Book a session for yourself or bring a friend. New clients can try 3 sessions for $80, valid for one month.

How an infrared sauna works

A traditional sauna heats the air around you. An infrared sauna heats your body directly, which makes it much less humid and a more comfortable way to sweat for many people.

Far-infrared is the longest infrared wavelength. It reaches deepest into the body and prompts a deep sweat.

Drink at least one glass of water beforehand. Filtered water is provided.

  3. 3

    Start your session

Your session starts once the sauna reaches 38°C and lasts up to 45 minutes. The optimal range is 38°C to 58°C.

  4. 4

    Take it easy at first

If you are new to infrared, start with shorter sessions at 38°C. You may not sweat much in your early sessions.

  5. 5
