Lymphatic Drainage

Gentle, rhythmic bodywork that encourages the natural movement of lymph.

Manual lymphatic drainage is a gentle bodywork technique that uses rhythmic movements to mimic the natural flow of lymph through your body.

Your lymphatic system

The lymphatic system is your body's waste disposal system, carrying waste from your cells towards the kidneys to be removed in urine. It is also a key part of your immune function.

Unlike your blood, which has the heart to pump it, the lymphatic system has no pump of its own, so it can become congested. An overloaded system may leave you more susceptible to viruses, with poorer immune function, fluid retention, swollen glands and a run-down feeling.

Why do I need lymphatic drainage?

Treatment focuses on specific lymph nodes and points to support a free-flowing lymphatic system. It may help with conditions including autoimmune disease, chronic fatigue syndrome, neuropathy, cellulite, fluid retention or bloating, lymphoedema, circulatory disorders and chronic immune deficiency. It is also suitable for healthy people.

Who benefits?

  • People who feel sluggish
  • Bloating or oedema (swelling)
  • Recovery from injury or surgery
  • People on a weight loss program
  • Frequent colds and illness
  • Chronic skin conditions such as psoriasis or eczema
  • Anyone who wants to boost their immunity

Lymphatic drainage may not be suitable if you have any of the following. Please tell us about your health history when you book.

  • Congestive heart failure
  • Deep vein thrombosis
  • Recent or current chemotherapy
  • Acute inflammation or infection
  • Active cancer
  • Arteriosclerosis

Booking tips
